5 Reasons Why I Quit My Corporate Job

I have been a corporate employee for the last 10 years and I have had enough. It is time to take my experience, skills, and knowledge of the industry to create something more fulfilling. 

These are 5 reasons why I quit my corporate job:

1) The work-life balance was terrible because it felt like everything revolved around work and being at the office.

2) I wanted to be able 2 spend time with my kids before they grew up too quickly.

3) There were no opportunities for growth in my company so it seemed pointless to continue working there.

4) My salary was not competitive with what other companies were offering me outside of this field (e.g., tech or engineering fields).

5) I wanted to be able to work on things that made me happy, not just my job.

Let’s study these reasons in brief,

It’s hard on your health.The stress of waking up every morning knowing you’re going into work can be really draining over time. Plus sitting in some uncomfortable chairs all day doesn’t do much good either! Some people might disagree with me here as they say “if you hate your job then get another one.”

But if there were other options out there waiting for me, wouldn’t YOU rather just keep doing something you love? That way when life gets tough or you’re having a really bad day, you can say “well at least I’m doing something that makes me happy.”

If you don’t have the best work/life balance, there is going to be some negative impact. You might find yourself not spending enough time with family or friends and only focusing on what happens at your place of employment.

This can lead to arguments and tensions within relationships because it means neglecting someone for another aspect in life which isn’t healthy! And if those close to you are telling you this but nothing is changing? It may be worth considering how much longer they will put up with things like this before leaving themselves.

It doesn’t always pay off financially.Let’s say you have a family and they are relying on your income. You might be putting in lots of overtime hours to make up for the lack of raises or promotions which can get expensive after time! And then if you’re lucky enough to work near public transit, it seems like gas prices go through the roof every week.

It doesn’t always pay off emotionally ,Let’s face it: there is not one person out there who enjoys going into their job everyday without exception.

There will always be some days where you just don’t feel so great about what happens at work; maybe somebody was really rude today or made an inappropriate comment that got under your skin.

It might even happen often enough as well, making these negative moments outweigh the good ones. And if you’re the person putting in these extra hours? It’s not just your time but also your energy that might be going towards someone else’s success instead of yours.

I have learned a lot from my time at the company, but it is time for me to take advantage of this experience and do something more fulfilling. 

As I explore what that might look like, I hope to be able to use some of these skills: project management, strategic thinking, business development.
